Our story

Born in Palmdale in 2006 out of necessity. Built by volunteers ever since.

Antelope Valley Youth Athletics was born out of necessity. In 2006, youth athletic opportunities in Palmdale and Lancaster were scarce, and when the program our founders were part of decided to stop serving the Antelope Valley, they started their own. AVYA has been here ever since.

What started as a track program has grown into a thriving multi-sport organization. Over the years we’ve added Football, Cheer, and Cross Country, each program launched in direct response to what our community needed.

Our long-term vision is to offer every sport a young Antelope Valley athlete might want to play. If you’re a coach with a program you’d like to start, we’re always looking to grow. Reach out and let’s talk.

Whether your child is stepping onto a field for the very first time or training for Junior Olympics, AVYA has a home for them in the Antelope Valley.

Our mission

To develop well-rounded young athletes who excel not just in their sport, but in the classroom and in life. We believe every child in the Antelope Valley deserves access to quality youth athletics, and we’re committed to making that happen.

Community at our core

AVYA is volunteer-driven and family-focused. Every coach, board member, and parent who shows up on game day is part of what makes this organization great. We run on community pride, and there’s plenty of it in the AV.

More than athletes

Youth sports build discipline, resilience, and friendships that last a lifetime. Our coaches lead by example, teaching young people to compete hard, win with grace, and never stop improving.

Everyone welcome

AVYA is proud to be a cornerstone of youth athletics in the Antelope Valley. We welcome families from across the region, no matter your child’s experience level. Come see what the Valley is made of.
